How long does an arrest warrant stay active? Would a DWI bench warrant be likely to be added into NCIC?

Best Answer :

Once you have been booked, finger printed and charged you are in the data base. Each jurisdiction relays their information. A bench warrant stays open until apprehended.
It would be in your best interest to turn your self in and take care of this problem, otherwise it will come back to haunt you at the most inconvenient times. Good luck

Until you are arrested. Just go and take your medicine.

An arrest warrant stays active until you are arrested or pay. Yes, it will likely be added.

An arrest warrant remains open indefinitely; however, although you can be arrested as a result of an open warrant you may not be charged for the original offense if it is subject to a statue of limitations and it has expired.

Your fingerprints are the FBI's Automated Fingerprint Identification System. The NCIC is dependent upon the information being reported to them through federal, state and local law inforcement but I would work under the assumption you are in the database.

Forever, or until you take care of it……
NCIC, if it was a felony drunk-driving,..
